Every month we introduce a team member of Tiroler Goldschmied.
This time it’s Michael Volgger, our rock in the storm.
Michael has been working as a master goldsmith in our studio for more than 38 years and is therefore the most loyal employee of Tiroler Goldschmied.
We appreciate his precise and diligent way of working, which he has had since his first day with us.
He always has one goal in mind, and that is to forge the piece of jewelry as perfectly as possible.
Every piece of jewelry bears Michl’s signature.
Michl has been significantly involved in all the award-winning pieces of jewelry in our studio as a master goldsmith and has trained several goldsmiths in our workshop during his career and passed on his knowledge, once again demonstrating his social competence.
We love his cheerfulness and the many quirky Ultner stories (from his home town in South Tyrol). He is always up for a bit of fun and exudes good humor in the workshop.
We asked him a few questions:
What is your trademark?
Helpfulness is my life and work is my prayer.
What do you particularly enjoy about your job?
I like working with gemstones and pearls best, because they have healing powers that I benefit from.
Your favorite piece of jewelry is …
The Tahitian platinum necklace with which we won the Pearl Design Contest in Japan.
Why?
It was an extreme technical challenge at the time to set the gemstones without a laser or microscope.
What is your best or most unusual memory of your work at Tiroler Goldschmied?
The excursions.
When asked what Michl’s hobbies are, he answers dryly:
Work.
Tiroler Goldschmied would not be where it is today without our Michl.
A special person who we can always rely on! Our “Ultner Urlärche” 🙂
